Visit to Minase Waterfall [Access, Parking]

投稿日:

Hi everybody, this is the Chief Editor of Shimamotopic.

In this post, I, as a five-year resident of Shimamoto-cho, would like to introduce one of the most popular tourist spots in the town, "Minase Waterfall."

It takes about an hour to get there and back from JR Shimamoto Station on foot, so it is ideal for a short walk with your kids.

Attention! One thing to note is that the Google map will not get you there.

Don't worry, the directions will be well explained in this post.

This spot is a must-see for waterfall lovers.

It is also perfect for hiking with kids.

Access & Parking

Here's how to get to Minase Waterfall.

【eternal edition】
Since Google Maps doesn't take you to Minase Waterfall, I'll put the map here.
First, head for the Todaiji Local Community Center.
Then, head north toward the Meishin Expressway.
It's marked with the red arrow.

It takes...

15 minutes on foot from JR Shimamoto Station.

20 minutes on foot from Hankyu Minase Station.

15 minutes on foot from JR Yamazaki Station.

20 minutes on foot from Hankyu Oyamazaki Station.

Unfortunately, there is no parking.

There is a space to park for about 10 minutes near the Minase Waterfall, but it is not a legal parking area.

So if you are driving, consider parking at one of the following locations.

If you'd like a free place to park, go here on Route 171.

How to get to Minase Waterfall

I have included a map, but I will also explain how to get there with pictures just in case.

As you head toward the Todaiji Local Community Center, you will see Takitani Park, and then head north.

From Takitani Park, turn left on the second road, and you will see a road that goes under the Meishin Expressway.

There are benches for you to take a break.

The Minase Waterfall is quite high and the wind was strong due to the force of the waterfall.

A stone monument explains about the Minase Waterfall.
